International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI) Self-check
The 2012 IBSTPI instructional designer competencies includes 22 of them, clustered into 5 domains and supported by 105 performance statements. These competencies show that the field of instructional design has grown so much in breadth, depth and complexity that no one person can be expected to be competent in all the related skills and knowledge (www.ibstpi.org).
The IBSTPI standards are core standards used by the IDD&E program at Syracuse University, and all students are expected to do self-check on these competencies at different stages during the program.
